Pot holes area problem across the UK with an estimated 2,000,000 so what can be done? Well there’s one London resident who’s taken matters into his own hands and is filling the local pot holes with miniature gardens.

The Daily Mail reports on the urban guerilla-gardener Steve Wheen who is working his way round the streets of London creating little plots of beauty where once a ugly pot hole could be found.

Steve has created all sorts of miniature gardens complete with miniature garden furniture. When Interviewed Steve said, “I try and choose public locations with plenty of walk-past traffic, so as many people see my gardens as possible before they get destroyed, stolen or run over.”

Steve continued saying, ‘In Australia I grew up in the garden and I’ve been living in London for the past eight years,’ he said. ‘I found out about guerrilla gardening when I moved here. I don’t have a garden myself so I’ve taken my gardening to the streets. A few years ago I tried it on a much tinier scale and it seems to have had a much bigger impact.’

Thanks to Steve’s efforts many people have enjoyed his beautiful miniature gardens, let’s hope others are encouraged to clean up our great city as well as their gardens.

Cooking can be a great way to save money in difficult economic times. By preparing meals and not eating out all the time you can put more money in your pocket and give less to fast food places and restaurants. This article can help you find ways to do more home cooking.

If you are going to be trying to get the jello salad out of the mold all you have to do is dip the mold in some warm water for 30 seconds. Loosen the edges of the mold with a knife and lightly flip it over onto a plate and voila!

When you are cooking, it is possible to substitute honey for sugar in several recipes. First, begin by using an amount of honey that is half of the amount of sugar called for in the recipe. If you find that the final product is not sweet enough, you can add more honey the next time around.

Chicken broth should be used when you are sautéing your vegetables. Chicken broth can be purchased at any grocery store. It is important to choose a chicken broth that is low in sodium so that you do not eat too much sodium. Sodium can cause you to retain water which is not good.

Keep some simple already prepared dishes frozen in the freezer. These dinners are very handy for either a quick dinner on those hectic days when you just don’t feel like cooking or on that Sunday morning when you have to get something together for the church social.

Get all your prep work done the night before you plan to cook a big meal. Getting the most time-consuming part out of the way helps alleviate stress during the actual meal preparation. In addition, your family or friends are sure to be impressed with the speed with which you whip up a culinary masterpiece!

When you are roasting meat, you should save the juice left in the pan. You can use this juice for making a rich gravy to accompany your meal. When you are done cooking, put the juice in a pan with spices and add flour to it. Stir until thick and you have gravy.

To save time on busy weeknights, cook ahead on the weekends and stock your freezer with meals that are ready to heat through. Lasagnas, enchiladas, and other casseroles are great for freezing, as are many soups. Alternately, you can cook an extra batch of dinner any day of the week to freeze for a day when you don’t have the time.

If you are wondering what to do with leftover vegetables, consider using the vegetables in a salad. Simply cut the vegetables into strips and toss with greens and add salad dressing. To make a chef’s salad, just add your leftover meat and add cheese. These salads are easy to make, and you can enjoy them within minutes.

For perfect hard-boiled eggs, follow these simple rules. One, the pot should be big enough that the eggs do not touch. Two, bring water just deep enough to cover the eggs to a boil. Three, add each egg with a spoon to the boiling water, so it doesn’t crack. Four, boil eight minutes. Five, run eggs under cold water.

When making stocks, make them in large quantities and store the extra stock in your freezer in plastic bags. This is very convenient and will save a huge amount of time when cooking future recipes. All you will have to do is grab the bag of stock from the freezer and thaw it.

Even the humble sandwich can benefit from a little cooking expertise. Mayonnaise, mustard and other condiments should be spread evenly from edge to edge of sandwich bread. This improves consistency and ensures that every bite of the sandwich gets the benefit of the condiments. Even spreading produces superior sandwich results every time.

Season components of your dishes as you go for deeper flavors. For instance, when making lasagna, season the sauce, the meat, and the ricotta mixtures individually, but go easy on the salt. This way, no part of your dish is too bland, and the finished dish has a richer overall flavor.

Don’t waste the seeds from your pumpkins, roast them. Scoop the seeds out, and rinse them thoroughly until the membrane has separated and washed off. Blot the seeds and let them dry for fifteen minutes. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Spread the seeds evenly over a lightly oiled tray. Lightly salt, and let them roast for at least ten minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Home cooking can save you money. Restaurant and fast food costs can quickly add up. By cooking in quantity and freezing leftovers for later, you can really save money. By using the tips in this article, you can add to your cooking repertoire, and put that extra money towards something you really need.

Everyone needs a little bit of friendly advice from time to time, and that’s especially true when dealing with real estate. It’s a tough world out there for a buyer. It’s doubly tough in a market like this. Check out these buyer-oriented real estate tips and learn how to approach the market.

Start slow. First time investors are generally discouraged from buying several properties within a short time period. Cash flow difficulties could arise, making it difficult for the owner to balance all of their new responsibilities. Rather than get discouraged, it is a better idea to purchase one property at first.

If you want a bargain in real estate, you should look at bank owned properties that they have acquired, due to foreclosure. With so many banks holding so many properties, they are getting aggressive in pricing them to move them off their books quickly and you can save 40 to 80% of what the bank loaned on it.

Before looking at homes to buy, take stock of your current financial situation. Look at the level of your current debt, look at the stability of your income, and decide on the amount of house you can afford before you get your heart set on a home that is too expensive for your budget.

When buying real estate be aware that a 20 year old house is potentially the worst because so many components do not last longer than that. You will want to check to make sure the furnace, roof, and air conditioner have already been replaced or know that you will be replacing them soon out of your pocket.

When buying a home after a previous home has foreclosed, you may be asked for a larger down payment. In many cases this is usually around twenty percent. The larger a down payment you can put on a new home the lower the interest rate is going to be for your loan.

Homes with appliances available in them are great, but they’re also very pricy. And don’t forget that we’re talking about other people’s used appliances. You can save tens of thousands by opting for a home without appliances, and putting new appliances in will only cost a few thousand. That’s a win-win.

Don’t involve too many people in the decision-making process. Having too many people sharing their opinions can make things very difficult for you and for the professionals involved in the property-buying process. Keep decision-making to as few people as possible. This way, it is easier to get everyone on the same page.

When you are looking for a new home, make sure that the home has quite a bit of storage space. This would include closets in the bedrooms and other storage areas for other things. It is always nice to have plenty of room for storage because then it helps you keep your home looking nice and organized instead of looking cluttered.

Coordinate with the seller for a professional inspector to visit the home to really look things over thoroughly. Make plans to meet your inspector at the home so you can accompany him through the entire procedure. It will help you to understand the results that are in the report better.

One important tip when it comes to real estate is to make sure that you do your homework on what agent to choose. This is important because this may be the largest investment of your life and you need to make sure you are in good hands. Be sure to do background checks, read reviews, and try to find out their track record.

Spotting any potential problems or needed repairs on a property can be a lot easier if you bring an experienced contractor with you when you look at a house. A good contractor with experience in rehabbing houses will be able to spot any hidden flaws or problems that you might miss.

Make sure you do not commit to purchasing a home until it has been inspected. Many times, people have bought homes, only to find that the amount of repairs needed is much more than they thought. These repairs can cause a new homeowner to become broke. Instead, have an inspector take a look at both the exterior and interior of the home.

When buying a house be sure to have an inspector thoroughly inspect it. The house may look good to the untrained eye, but there may be problems with the structure of the house. A trained home inspector will be able to spot any issues that might be present.

Make sure when you are considering purchasing a home that you think that it is a home that you will be happy in for at least three to five years. It will take you that long to build up the equity in your home to recoup the money so you do not end up financially upside-down.

When purchasing a property in a rural area, find out what your options are for internet connectivity. You may find yourself in an area unserved by DSL, or your property might be too far from the street for standard cable installation. Very rural areas might be served only by dial-up or satellite broadband.

Never agree to a mortgage if the payments will strain your budget in any way. There is simply too much at stake and too many hidden variables when it comes to your mortgage. If you can just barely stay ahead of mortgage payments at the beginning of the loan, what will you do if your income drops in the future?

Pay special attention to upgrades that the property you plan on buying needs. Have estimates done and compare those estimates to the cost of the property and also its appraised value. It is important to know what you are getting into if you purchase a home that needs repairs or remodeling projects that you would want to perform.

As you can see, this advice is meant to guide you toward the best possible decision for you. Instead of selling you on any tactics you can use, the goal of this article was to simply provide some current and helpful real estate advice. Use it wisely and make the best decision possible.

Fitting your own new kitchen will save you thousands of pounds in contrast to contracting kitchen fitters to get it done for you. Considering your regular kitchen costs between £3,000 – £12,000 paying £2,000 – £4,500 to have it fitted is much too pricey for a lot of people.

You will soon learn that fixing kitchens is not difficult though you might like to hire an electrician and plumber for these parts as they’ll make your life very much easier. Often fitted kitchens arrive with the cupboards already assembled saving you a lot of difficulty building them yourself.

One of the perfect ways to understand how to fix your new kitchen is to look at just how your recent kitchen was fitted, you may be re-designing the format but the process will be the same. Having cleared all the previous units you will now have a clear working place to start. You’ll require a number of power devices as well as hand tools such as a jigsaw, power drill, pencil, level, tape measure, screwdriver and hammer.

You can now start by fixing your kitchen floor units into place, use a level to ensure that your work surface will be level once it comes to fitting it. It is at this stage you must cut out sections of your cabinets to permit entry for electrical cabling and piping to be fed. Use the saw to cut out sections of your units to work snugly alongside the walls and then with the drill fix your units to the structure behind. With the floor cupboards in place and attached to the wall you can now check the required worktop length, put it in location and cut holes for your taps and sink unit.

You’re now able to fix your kitchen wall cabinets. It is good to have another pair of hands while doing this as you need to able to draw holes for where you will fix the cabinets to the wall. Take off the doors to your kitchen wall unit before moving it in place.

Now were getting nearer to March the outdoor feels a lot more inviting so why not consider exercising in your garden. By exercising in your garden you won’t feel any of the shame you may have felt at the gym or track.

The best time to start any exercise is first thing in the morning so try getting up an hour earlier. If your looking to feel more motivated or less stressed before going to work then exercise is one of the best ways to do this as your body will release natural endorphins which make you feel better.

Finding ways to keep your interest in exercising regularly can make all the difference in sticking with it trampolines are a great fun way to exercise. You’ll find hundreds of different styled trampolines which can be easily installed in any garden.

Alternatively you could try to run or cycle each morning before going to work. In fact even if you just start to walk or cycle to work instead of using the car this will help keep you fit and save you money.

One really good way of improving your home is by adding a really luxurious sofa in your living room. There are many different designs and styles to choose from when browsing sofas online so where do you start.

What style of home do you live in, is it a modern or traditional building, have you already furnished it with other styles of furniture. From cottages to Georgian town houses you’ll find many different style homes here in the UK. If your aim is to furnish your home according to the period it was built then you are best looking traditional style furniture rather than modern. This is not to say that Victorian homes cannot have a modern theme décor, they certainly can and often this works very well with a combination of modern and traditional.

For the younger home owner modern rather than traditional interior design seems to be the preferred choice. Leather and corner sofas have always had a much more modern design about them. Take your time looking at the various different colours and fabrics available in these styles as you’ll find still hundreds to choose from.

Buying a sofa can be a lifetime choice for some, if this is the case for you always check the quality of the build before purchasing a new sofa. Though for many more the purchase of a new sofas will come every time you change homes so bare this in mind when allocating a budget . Cheaper sofas still offer great designs they just don’t last a lifetime, so if you’re likely to change yours save money by going for these.

Start by making sure that your sub-floor is completely level, your sub-floor is the floor you’re intending to lay the laminate on. The first thing you need to establish is whether your sub-floor is concrete or wooden as this will dictate how you go about levelling it.

Wooden sub-floors can be levelled with two different materials. You can either use hardboard or plywood, plywood comes in thicker sheets and gives a far more ridged finish to the sub-floor. Of the two plywood will do the job much better as it is much stronger and thicker than hardboard but it is more expensive and harder to fit. For the best wooden sub-floor finish you should always use plywood, also be sure to fix it down with screws rather than pins.

For those of you who have a concrete sub-floor there are a number of self-levelling compounds you can use to level the sub-floor. To avoid any moisture evaporating from the concrete sub-floor make sure you fit a plastic mebrane across the sub-floor.

With the sub-floor completely level you’re now able to start the main job. Start by fitting the underlay to the sub-floor. To stop the underlay from moving around when fitting the laminate use either staples or glue depending on your sub-floor.

After you have fitted your underlay securely to the sub-floor you can start to lay the laminate floor. Start in the far left hand corner with the entrance of the room behind you. Lay the laminate boards from left to right allowing a 5-8mm gap with spacers. When you get to the last piece on the right you will need to measure this and then cut to size, be sure to leave a 5-8mm spacer on the sides as well as the fronts.

Repeat the above procedure for rows 2 and 3 ensuring plenty of wedges are used. If you have used enough spacers or wedges then the three rows of laminate should be fitted securely so as they don’t move about.

Now your 3 rows are secure just continue to lay the remaining boards when you have reached the other end of the space you’ll need to measure the last boards, remember to allow a 5-8mm gap.

Believe it or not, your home has a lot to do with how you feel. It is important to be happy with the way your home looks because you spend a good bit of time there. Knowing that the home suits your needs and ideals can make your living and working environment better. The ideas below will help you love your home even more.

Always be comfortable in your own home. Thought it is normal for your house to not be perfect, flaws can really cause displeasure. You can feel better just by making minor changes. You can replace your kitchen chairs and table or maybe buy a nice sofa.

Add on to your home. There are times when nothing will work because a home is simply not big enough. If you aren’t ready to move into a bigger house, adding on to your current house can give you the room you desire. Even if it’s only a small addition, it can help with clutter.

Make your home more pleasant and valuable by adding recreational features to your property. These can be expensive or cheap options. Not only will these increase the value of your property, but they will also increase your family’s enjoyment of the area, and your home, more.

Take a look at your lighting. Even just a small change in the type of fitting used can brighten up a previously dull and dark room. Sometimes just replacing the bulbs can make it a brighter place, and it is such an easy thing to do. Fixing your light fixtures can give your home a brighter, newer look.

Consider putting some time and effort into landscaping. Having a well-kept lawn will have your neighbors jealous of you. You will feel great when you smell your lawn’s fresh grass each morning. Scatter some plants around the place to improve the quality of the oxygen, and breathe deeply.

The outside of your home is as important as the inside, so consider giving it some attention. You can do this by fixing your roof or replacing old windows. Repainting your house can also make it more attractive. You will be eager to come home each day to a beautiful and exciting home.

Since you spend so much time in your home, keeping it beautiful keeps you happy while you are there. This means that in addition to making good financial sense, home improvements can serve to improve your mood and your general outlook on life.

Those who don’t budget their money find that life gets very complicated very quickly. It makes no difference whether you are earning a lot of money or just a small amount you still need to know where your money is going.

For those of you who have just started working and are still living at home a very simple budget will be sufficient for your needs.
Below are 5 items which should be included in any budget, young or old.

• Money for food and lodgings, you should always give a part of your income towards the cost of your food and the utilities such as electric, gas and water. Most parent will not ask for large sums of money but don’t be fooled into thinking you should give nothing.
• What are you spending on going out or playing football, as a young person this will be the next important part of your budget?
• The next important item for your budget is how much you spend on clothing.
• Holidays, what do you spend on going away, if you don’t go away because you don’t have enough money then follow the next tip?
• Get ahead of the game and start saving when you’re young, saving will help to make your life mush easier when times get hard. You should be saving at least 15% of all money you earn.

Whiplash Compensation & Personal Injury

The most important thing of course is to deal with any injuries as a priority. You need to ensure that you are covered
For any Personal injury . The financial implications of an incident can be quite staggering especially taking into account any loss of earning while still recuperating. Most people never think beyond the price of their insurance coverage, however in the event of an incident are you confident that your insurance company will cover all your needs.

The field of car accident claims is littered with pitfalls. My recommendation is that you become aware of the services we offer. We have developed over the years a comprehensive Accident claims service
If you have been involved in an accident and need to make an Injury claim then we have the experience from thousands of successful Injury claims. All car accident claims no matter minor or major are by their very nature contentious and each car accident claim has to judged on its merits. We have the experience to make the judgement on likelihood of success in any situation of your Claim . Of course not all Claims arise from major incidents, and of course minor incidents are far more frequent.

A good example of this is Whiplash compensation. Whiplash is a medical condition whereby neck ligaments are torn as a result sudden to and fro jerking of the neck. In the case of a minor incident people might be tempted to forgo making a Medical claim for what appears a temporary condition. Nothing could be further from the truth, however, we know from experience that it is definitely worth while making a whiplash claim . Thousands of successful whiplash claims will confirm this.
